Parts
Create a record for each part you stock, with its number, barcode, location, quantity, cost, sell price and supplier.
A part record describes one thing you keep on the shelf. Once it exists, anyone adding it to a job gets the right description and price, and stock is counted automatically.
When to use it
Create a part for anything you keep in stock and want counted: filters, oil, pads, globes, wiper blades. Parts you order in for one job only can be typed straight onto the work order instead.
Before you start
Inventory → Create permission. If you want to link the part to a supplier, add the supplier first — or use Add part from this supplier on the supplier list.

Fields and options
| Field | Notes |

| Name | Required. What appears on quotes and invoices. |
| Part Number | Your or the manufacturer's number. |
| Barcode | Must be unique in your workshop. Lets you find the part by scanning. |
| Category | For filtering the list. Created as you type. |
| Location | Where it lives in the store room. |
| Quantity | Current stock. Fractions are allowed, so 4.5 L of oil works. |
| Min Qty | Reorder point for low stock alerts. Leave at 0 to use the workshop default. |
| Unit | Unit of measure. It is copied onto the job line when the part is used, so old invoices keep the unit they were billed in. |
| Unit Cost | Purchase price. Never shown to customers. |
| Sell Price | Price to the customer before tax. |
| Supplier | Link to a supplier record. |
| Image | Upload, take a photo with the camera, or use AI Auto-fill to fill fields from a photo of the box when AI is set up. |
| Supplier Link | A supplier web page for the part; Fetch can read details from it. |
Find and manage parts
- Search by name or number, and filter by Category.
- Row actions: Edit, Delete, and Details & history to see stock movements.
- Select several parts to delete them together.
Pricing with markup
If you price parts as cost plus a percentage, you can:
- set a default markup in Settings → Invoice → Parts Markup, optionally applied to inventory parts too; see Invoice settings;
- set sell prices for many parts at once with bulk markup; see Stock management.
