Parts on work orders

How adding, changing and removing parts on a job updates your stock automatically.

Audience:Service AdvisorTechnicianWorkshop Manager

When you add a stocked part to a work order, WRMS Pro takes it out of stock straight away. You do not need to adjust inventory separately.

Add a part to a job

Open the work order and go to Parts.
Search your inventory and pick the part. The name, part number, unit and sell price are filled in; the price follows your markup settings and the customer's price list.
Set the quantity and save.

You can also type a part that is not in inventory — for example a one-off special order. Free-text parts appear on the invoice but do not affect stock.

Stock goes down when the part is added, not when the job is finished

Adding a part to a Pending job reserves it out of stock immediately. If a job is cancelled and the parts go back on the shelf, remove them from the work order (or delete the job) so stock is corrected.

The customer never sees your cost

Unit cost and markup are for your eyes only. Quotes, invoices and shared links show the sell price.
