Quote → approval → work order
Send Sam the brake quote, get his acceptance on his phone, and turn it into a job with the parts already on it.
Sam has the brake quote from the inspection. This tutorial takes it from his phone to the workshop floor.
You need: Quotes → Edit and Work Orders → Create. Sam's mobile number or email on his customer record.
- 1Quote shared
- 2Sam taps Accept Quote
- 3You are notified
- 4Convert to Work Order
- 5Job Pending, stock reserved
Send the quote
Open the quote and select Share. Select Generate Public Link, tick SMS, and select Send Notification. Set the quote's status to Sent (emailing it does this for you).
Sam responds
Sam opens the link, reads the lines and the total, and taps Accept Quote. If he wanted something different — say, pads only, no rotors — he would tap Request Changes and type that instead.
See the answer
A notification appears in the bell, the dashboard's Quote Responses card lists it, and the quote is now Accepted.
If Sam requested changes instead, update the quote, mark the response as dealt with, and send it again. → Quote approval
Convert it
On the quote, select Convert to Work Order. Confirm the vehicle — the Corolla — and select Convert.
WRMS Pro creates a Pending work order with the quote's parts and labour, marks the quote Converted, and takes the stocked parts out of inventory.
Hand it to the workshop
Open the new work order, set the technician and schedule, and Assign to Board. If the car is already on the hoist from the service, the technician can Start Work straight away.
Already doing the service?
Converting creates a separate work order for the brakes, with its own invoice. If you would rather have one invoice for everything, add the brake lines to the existing service work order instead of converting, and set the quote to Accepted so your records are clear.
If Sam says yes on the phone
Set the quote to Accepted yourself and note in the quote who approved it and when, then convert as above.
