Tyre hotel

Store customers' seasonal or spare tyre sets, know exactly which shelf they are on, and bill storage and changeovers through normal work orders.

Optional moduleAudience:Workshop ManagerService AdvisorTechnician

The tyre hotel (shown as Tire Hotel in WRMS Pro) is for workshops that store customers' tyre or wheel sets between seasons. It records what you are holding, where it is, what condition it is in, and what needs doing before it goes back on the car.

When to use it

  • You keep customers' second set of wheels on racks at the workshop.
  • Technicians waste time hunting for the right set on changeover day.
  • You want a dated record of tread depth and damage when a set arrives, in case of a dispute later.

Before you start

  • The module is off by default. Switch it on in Settings → Tire hotel. The Tire Hotel menu item appears after that.
  • Your plan must include the tyre hotel.
  • Tire Hotel → Manage storage layout permission to set up your shelves.

Set up your storage

Describe your storage once, in your own words.

  1. Warehouses — a building or room. Most workshops have one; mark one as the default.
  2. Locations — a shelf, rack level, pallet or floor square, each with a short code (for example B-04-2) and a capacity in tyres.

Select Set up shelves from the Tire Hotel page, or open the storage layout. WRMS Pro shows how full each location is.

Check a set in

Select Check in tires.
Choose the Customer and Vehicle.
Record the set: Season (summer, winter, all-season or other), Number of tires, Brand, Model, Size, DOT / TIN code, and whether it is On rims, has TPMS sensors or is Studded.
Record the tread depth on arrival for each position, and photos of any damage.
Under Where the tires go, choose a shelf with room. WRMS Pro only offers locations with enough free space.
Save. The set gets its own reference number, and you can print labels for it.

Look after stored sets

  • Treatments — note work a set needs before it goes back on, such as washing, balancing, a TPMS service, new valves or a repair. Each one is marked pending, done or skipped, with who did it. The Needs prep tab lists sets with outstanding work.
  • Measurements — add tread depth and pressure readings over time; the history shows wear between seasons.
  • Move a set to another shelf; the move is recorded.

Check a set out

When the customer's changeover is due, check the set out. It is marked Returned and its shelf is freed. A work order or quote raised from the set tells the technician exactly which tyres to fit.

Plan the next season

The Next season page gives a forward look at the stored sets for the coming seasonal changeover, to help you plan bookings and bay time.
